Bike & e-scooter hire in Amsterdam
OV-fiets, the rail-station bike, is the one that catches visitors. It unlocks with a personal OV-chipkaart carrying its free subscription, and with nothing else: a contactless bank card or a phone will not open a bike, however well they work on the trains. The shared mopeds are a different barrier. Felyx and Check both expect a driving licence, and Felyx sets a minimum age of 18. Donkey Republic's bikes need no licence. Tickets, passes and contactless are on the Amsterdam page.
Docked means the vehicle lives in a station and must go back to one. Dockless vehicles park on-street inside app-approved zones.
