Uber and taxis in Amsterdam
Amsterdam's maximum taxi tariff only binds the taxi you flag down or take from a rank: €4.31 to start, €3.17 a kilometre and €0.52 a minute in a car for up to four people. A ride booked through an app counts as ordered transport, which the rules allow to be priced above that maximum, so the app's quoted price is the price. Ask for a printed receipt in a rank taxi; the driver has to give one. Tickets, passes and contactless are on the Amsterdam page.
